Mission Statement
To promote the cultural awareness and general knowledge of Hudson Valley bridge history and the art of civil engineering, architecture, and bridge science.
To promote the history and general knowledge of the bridges and their role and contributions to shaping the economy and the continued importance of the bridges to sustain the vitality of the Hudson Valley region and the North Eastern transportation corridor.
To become the curator and custodian of historical artifacts regarding the vehicular bridges owned by the New York State Bridge Authority:
the Bear Mountain, Newburgh-Beacon, Mid-Hudson, Kingston-Rhinecliff, and Rip Van Winkle Bridges, as well as the Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge (Walkway Over the Hudson).
To become an historian and archivist on bridge history.
